Celebrating a 60th Wedding Anniversary—Out-of-Preference Planful

Our state of bliss is then interrupted when Terri tells me that Cindy's flight has been delayed until tonight. Now, I've spent a lot of time planning this trip. In fact, I'm quite the planner. This surprises people when they learn I prefer Perceiving. My MBTI® Step I™ preferences are INFP. However, on the MBTI® Step IITM assessment, I report Expressive, out-of-preference. I also report out-of-preference on Planful, which is about leisure and long-term life events.

Leisure is definitely a big part of this trip. However, anyone who knows me will tell you that I've been planning this important life event (my parents' 60th wedding anniversary) for almost a year. Every part of every day is planned out, including our two-and-a-half hour drive to the Hilo side of the island as soon as we land. So when I learn that now one person will be arriving over six hours late, I start to get a bit nervous. Luckily for all involved, Terri then tells me that Cindy wants us to move on without her and will meet us tomorrow when we are back on the Kona side. Deep breath...exhale...all is good. Time to get the car and get on the road. I feel a little guilty for not feeling worse about Cindy's travel woes but remind myself that this trip is for my parents, and I want it to go perfectly for them.
