First Charity Partnership for The Myers-Briggs Company Recognized for Positive Impact with Local Adoption Company
March 19, 2020
The Business Charity Awards recognizes excellence in engaging employees and advocating community issues through mutually beneficial charity partnerships.
This year we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in their short-term partnership category for our work with PACT (Parents and Children Together) in the UK.
PACT is one of the UK’s leading independent adoption and family support charities. It helps hundreds of families every year and has a clear vision to strengthen families through high quality therapeutic support and inspirational community projects.
A partnership between our organizations formed with the aim of supporting PACT’s work through fundraising, volunteering and pro bono work.
From the outset, PACT shared insight into how difficult the adoption journey can be for prospective parents. Both organizations recognized the importance of self-awareness and resilience for anyone embarking on such a life-changing journey.
To help with these challenges, our team of Occupational Psychologists developed a program to help prospective parents as they embark on their adoption path. PACT staff were subsequently trained to successfully deliver the program themselves so they could sustain the program themselves in the future.
As a result, people going through the adoption process with PACT are now better supported to know if it’s right for them and, with greater self-awareness and tools for building resilience, are better equipped for any life challenges.
In addition, our resident psychologists guided PACT towards a new approach to recruitment. One of our employees also used their volunteer time off to design a Senior Leadership event for the newly expanded executive team.
Donations in kind made by our employees have also helped put smiles on the faces of the women supported by PACT’s community project, Alana House.
