I found the FIRO training to provide the necessary content in order to prepare us for a Practitioner role. The trainers were very supportive throughout the two days of training and are available beyond the training to assist with any questions or concerns.
The tool is flexible enough that it can be rolled out within an organization to assist individuals increase their self-awareness and identify areas of strengths and development in their one-on-on or group relationships, and leadership skills. FIRO can supplement other tools you might already be using within your organization.
The FIRO-B certification program is well worth the time and investment. It provided well thought out instruction about how to coach participants into understanding their awareness level in each of the interpersonal need categories.
This instrument is a great tool to raise personal awareness and then how to self-regulate your behaviors with others and in teams.
The FIRO-B® assessment provides me with a tool for helping individuals understand what they seek from groups. It’s valuable in helping them manage their own motivations as well as respecting the different needs within groups they serve in or lead.
It has strengthened my teaching programs, in that my clients can now see how their behaviors affect trust and conflict.
